Comprising a kettle-on-stand, a teapot, a coffee pot, a cream jug and an open sugar bowl, engraved with a heraldic crest.
the kettle height 17in (43cm); length 11 1/2in (29cm); width 9in (23cm); total weight approximately 260oz troy.

Provenance: Property from a Private Collector, Pacific Palisades, California.

Footnote: Engraved with the armorial bearings of the family of Bushby, of Wormleybury, Broxbourne in the County of Hertfordshire.

The family of Bushby stemmed from a William Bushby (d.1830), of Kempleton, Kirkmichael in the
County of Dumfriesshire. He was in the service of the Honourable East India Company. William married Maria Camac, the daughter of John Camac, of Greenmount in the County of Louth on the 8th July 1788 at the Parish Church of St Marylebone in the County of Middlesex. Many of William and Maria's sons served in the civil service in the Bombay, Bengal and Madras Presidencies of British India as well as officers in the Madras Army. William's grandson, Henry Jeffreys Bushby (1820-1903), of Wormleybury obtained a grant of armorial bearings from the Kings of Arms at The College of Arms in the City of London in 1861.

    Condition:
  • Heavy gauge. General marks, scratches, rubbing, wear and tarnishing commensurate with age and use. Some compression of feet into bottom of sugar bowl. Engraved as stated. No maker's marks.
