    Footnote:
    François Mondon (1694-1770), maître by 1730, specialized in the use of dark timber veneers, and worked mainly in the Régence style, although a few Louis XV pieces are also known to have come from his workshop in rue du Faubourg-Saint-Antoine, Paris. His son François Antoine took over the workshop after his death in 1770.
