A large Chinese Export blue and white porcelain charger with unusual peacock design
probably Kangxi period

Centered by a figural roundel beneath a western inspired crown, the everted sides covered in peacocks and lotus blossoms.

    For a similar design see Christie's, New York, 22 January 2012, lot 412. A slightly different design also featuring peacocks sold Bonham's, Los Angeles, 13 October 2020, lot 51.
  • Dimensions: diameter 16 1/2in (42cm)
  • Condition: General marks, scratches, rubbing, wear, scattered chips, glazing and firing flaws. Old sanded down kiln grit, some roughness to edges. Not inspected under UV light. Possible further restorations.
