mid 19th century

The twin train movement with outside countwheel striking on a bell.

  • Provenance:
    Property from the Geith Estate, Santa Barbara, California.
  • Dimensions: height 18 3/4in (47.5cm); width 9 3/4in (25cm); depth 5 3/4in (14.5cm)
  • Condition: The gilt bronze with toning and wear overall, heaviest to chapter ring and edge of plinth base. A few small losses to the gilt metal mounts. Turned columns showing craquelure, probably heat damage. Case with some mounts loose. General marks, nicks, scratches and wear. Missing one block foot to back. Movement maintaining power and striking but out of sync. Working condition not guaranteed.
