A French gilt brass petite sonnerie carriage clock
circa 1900

In a corinthian case, with subsidiary alarm dial, with Sonnerie/Silence adjuster to underside, having a push repeat and lever platform escapement striking on two gongs.

  • Provenance:
    Property from the private collection of Nina Schwimmer, Los Angeles, California.
  • Dimensions: height 6 1/4in (16cm); width 3 1/4in (8.5cm); depth 3in (7.5cm)
  • Condition: Wear and tarnishing to the brass. Clock seems to be over wound and balance wheel is not moving. Cleaning residue visible. Glass panels with no apparent chips. With white cleaning residue to inside. Backplate numbered 1038. Both arbors are fully wound. Balance wheel continues to move freely. The clock will not maintain power. The working condition is not guaranteed.
